Mary vs the Gopher

Mary made a new friend at the house. A friend she does NOT want. This friend makes dirt mounds all over the yard. It's a GOPHER!!! There was always a suspicion why she never liked University of Minnesota and now we know why - their mascot is the gopher!

You might be able to see three mounds if you look really hard. There's a smaller one hiding behind the gigantic one that Fox can literally sit in since it's that big.

He also attacked the neighbor's as well. What an equal opportunist this sneaky creature is.

He started attacking the soil Mary was prepping for more garden.

Here are the lemongrass plants Mary and her mom planted. A few are looking a bit wilty and small. That's not due to Mary killing plants - it's the gopher at work.

By the way, lemongrass is awesome in stir-fry! The kind not attacked by gophers that is.

Mary is also swearing up and down that Gopher stole a small hand towel she left hanging out to dry with the laundry this morning. Her brother thinks she's crazy. James says a bird took it. No, Gopher took it into his network of tunnels to make a nest!!!

In this round of Mary vs the Gopher, Gopher wins. WAAAH! The count total: four mounds in a little under a week (this doesn't include the neighbor's).
