This semester, James is taking a drawing class at the Polytechnic Campus (they actually have a really really nice and new state-of-the-art facility!). The teacher chose to showcase one of his pictures that he drew of random tubes and blocks. (Mary got a parking ticket, so this photo better have been worth it!)
Around the house, we have been working on small projects.
We finally got around to putting the Pottery Barn-ish looking twin bed frame together in Fox's room. Fantastic!Fox can't wait to sleep in it but still wants to sleep in his "bed down low" (translation, toddler bed). Mary and her mom picked up the frame at a yardsale last year. It still needs a little work on the built in shelves and doors but other than that, it's great.
Mary put up a wall border in the dining room. Now it doesn't look so bland. It has a fun little pictures of espresso beans, milk jugs, mixing bowls, sugar jars and coffee mugs. We also hung up a few of our artwork but we'll post photos of those later when we finalize if we like the placements.
Finally, the Fantasy update (as of 10/30). This post is a little late - we had a terribly annoying Trojan Virus on our computer and were not able to use it for almost a week!
As you can tell, it is a MUST WIN situation for Gerhart and Spiders from here out. Playoffs start week16 and only the top four get to go.
So this is us. nothing else to report. adios!
This is a snippet of what our Loyal Reader has to look forward to this week in our post! Halloween is just around the corner but it doesn't mean we can't start a little early!!!
Two weeks or so, the Valley was hit with a crazy storm that brought floods of rain (it must have rained for a solid 20hours in our neck of the woods), intense hurricane like winds, and lots of decimation in the path.
This was the early part of the storm. It looked like any other rainstorm.
(Mary snapped this to show gopher progress on his own decimation path.)
Then it quickly turned into this:
Fox is super tall, isn't he?! Anyways, we had it lucky.
This was Mary's mom's condo:
The rest of the complex looked just as horrible.
We had to buy a new monitor (boo to spending money on stuff we don't want to spend it on!). Then this week, Mary has been sick with a head cold, sinus infection, and muscle strain to her back. When she's down, she makes sure to go all out - haha. James is done with mid-terms - YAY! Now, a little R&R.
The best part of our post, the Fantasy team (as of 10/23). Mary faces yet another undefeated opponent in the head-to-head matchup. James needs to kick off this three game losing streak he's on.It should be noted that there are UNLIMITED moves in our league.
So this is us. Nothing else to report. adios!
Dear Loyal Reader,
Look at who James and Mary got to meet!!!Ben Bailey from "Cash Cab" game show on the Discovery Channel!!! How many "Cash Cab" fans do we have out there?! No need to explain who this guy is at all to you then. He is super tall, isn't he?! (For sake of comparison, James is 6-2.) James looks a little intimidated by Ben in this photo while Mary doesn't care and hams it up! Hands down, he is one of James' favorite comedians.
Don't know about you, but we're ready for a...RED LIGHT CHALLENGE!
They also met Rachel Feinstein from "Last Comic Standing" at the meet and greet as well after the show.James and Mary don't frequent Comedy nights but it may seem like we do due to this previous post. Look very carefully and you just might see Mary wearing the same exact peacoat! They had FREE TICKETS courtesy of all those who pay hard earned money on ASU tuition.
Ok, now that part is over with, what season is it? FOOTBALL season! Mary's mom was over for the weekend and this is what it looked like:
Fox and Grandma Somie in their Packers gearMary rockin' the MJD for Jags supportFox in front of the laptop we set up so we could get multiple games from the tv and computers. Hardcore, we are.By the way, that's not QB Rodgers but RT Buluga in the background.
Finally, a photo of King James WITHOUT any fan gear?! Why ever not?! The Jets played on Monday, not Sunday. So, he wore his Jets stuff then. This is the PERFECT segway into our Fantasy League updates (as of 10/13)! Mary is on a two game winning streak while James is on a two game losing streak. It should be noted that Mary took down an undefeated team this past week. Go go go "Be Still My Gerhart!"James plays the last undefeated player in the league this coming week. Go "Barking Spiders"! Mary's QB Rodgers is out with a concussion (NOOOOOOOOOO!!!). Yes, that is bad news all around.
Our computer monitor decided it wanted to go into permanent sleep mode and we had to buy a new one. We were computer/internet-less for almost a week! zoinks! Fox can sing the ABCs and also take pictures with the camera. We'll set up a separate blog for Fox's photography skills. There seem to be a lot of photos of his toy trucks and cars - go figure.
so this is us. nothing else to report. adios!
One day, James and Mary went to check on Fox during his afternoon nap and found this disaster:(This might look familiar to our Loyal Readers from a previous post. The room was similarly trashed to rockstar standards.)
Fox has a play tent in the corner of his room that is filled with stuffed animals. They peek inside to find:A FOX in hiding!!!That just about wraps up the afternoon adventure. Fox normally sleeps in his toddler bed and for whatever reason that day, he wanted to sleep with the stuffed animals in the tent.
James has midterms next week. Mary is once again working with the Cub Scouts program (no lies, back again!). Now, onto the Fantasy updates (as of 10/7):How is it possible that only three people in the league have won more than half of their games when there are twelve people in the league?! Also worth noting, Barking Spiders has one of the lowest scores in the league at 340ish points but is 3-1?! Mary cries the commish is a cheater!
So this is us. Nothing else to report. adios!
Fox has a dilemma - what to be for Halloween.
A dinosaur...
or a shark...
hmm. We're not sure ourselves.
So this is us. Nothing else to report. adios!
